Brad Pitt Is the Latest Member of the Mustache Club

Alert the group chat! Brad Pitt has a brand new mustache. Not a shy little whisper of one, either. This is a full-blown, Tom Selleck-coded mustache.

The mustache trend may not necessarily be new among A-listers. Pedro Pascal, Jacob Elordi, and even Timothée Chalamet have all dabbled in the art of upper lip facial hair. But Pitt, a proper Hollywood veteran, has grounded the look in an old-school aesthetic. There’s a hint of handlebar and no stubble to hide behind.

MEGA

A few days ago, Pitt started filming The Adventures of Cliff Booth (the long-rumored spin-off to Quentin Tarantino‘s Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood). On set, he looked less like a guy playing a stuntman and more like a Miami mafioso. The ’stache was perfectly trimmed too, which is essential; as soon as these things become unkempt, their currency plummets.

There’s something about this mustache—on this man—that hits different. Maybe it’s the way the whole look feels ripped from a ’70s casting call. Maybe it’s the way Pitt, at 61, still manages to make facial hair feel like a cultural reset. Or maybe it’s just that mustaches (like flared trousers and cowboy boots) are all over menswear moodboards again—and the Wolfs actor just kicked the whole thing into overdrive.

The timing’s no coincidence, either. With The Adventures of Cliff Booth positioned as a standalone, throwback action epic, it makes sense that he’s leaning into the tough guy aesthetics of yore. Think Burt Reynolds. Think Charles Bronson. Think Sam Elliott.

Whether this mustache actually makes it into the final cut or not, one thing’s for sure: Brad Pitt just reminded everyone how good a true statement mustache can be.
