Gas prices nationwide jump 25 cents a gallon in a week
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Oil and gas prices are on the rise in the Mid-South as the situation in the Middle East continues to escalate.
The American Automobile Association (AAA) reported that gas prices have risen more than 25 cents a gallon nationwide in just one week.

The average price for a gallon of gas in Memphis has risen from 2.56 to 2.80, an increase of 24 cents.
In Southaven and Olive Branch, the cost has also risen even faster. It was 2.47 a gallon last week, and now the average price is 2.75, a 28-cent increase.

West Memphis drivers have seen the biggest increase from 2.58 a gallon to 2.92 a gallon, a whopping 34-cent increase.
And experts say there is no relief in sight.
