IDF strikes IRGC broadcasting headquarters in Tehran

Semi-official IRGC news outlet Tasnim reported that two explosions were witnessed in the area of the broadcasting building.

The IDF struck the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) headquarters, controlled by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in Tehran on Monday.

The strikes, carried out by the Israeli Air Force, “dismantled” the broadcasting center, the IDF stated.

Semi-official IRGC-linked news outlet Tasnim reported that two explosions were witnessed in the area of the broadcasting building.

IRIB’s broadcast center was recently used by the Iranian regime to “advance military activities under the guise of civilian activity and assets,” the IDF said, adding that it was also frequently used to spread regime propaganda.

Propaganda spread by the regime-run station for years included advocacy for Iran’s nuclear weapon development, calls for the destruction of Israel, and repression of the Iranian people, according to the IDF.

IDF urged civilians to evacuate before strike

Shortly before the strike, the IDF issued a Farsi-language evacuation warning for Iranians in the Evin area of Tehran and in the IRIB station.

The warning, shared on X/Twitter, warned that the IDF would be carrying out military operations in the coming hours and urged Iranian citizens to immediately evacuate the area.

Shortly after the warning was published, the IDF announced that it had begun striking terror targets in Tehran.
