Israel signs cyber defense cooperation agreement with Germany

Israel and Germany signed a cyber defense cooperation agreement on Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced.

“I think Germany and Israel are natural partners,” he stated. “We’ve cooperated on the Arrow III, we’ve cooperated in many areas. We cooperate technologically. Chancellor Mertz was here recently. We talked about defense cooperation.”

After Netanyahu and German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt signed the agreement, the prime minister expressed that it was a positive sign for Israel’s future.

“This reflects the growing closeness of many countries and major powers like Germany, and there are others, of course, that you are familiar with, which seek cooperation with us and want to promote not only security matters but also economic ones,” Netanyahu said.

“The State of Israel is on the rise,” he concluded.

Israel National Cyber Directorate to collaborate with German Cyber Department

The signing of the cyber defense cooperation agreement follows a Letter of Intent signed on December 9, 2025, by the Director General of the Israel National Cyber Directorate, Yossi Karadi, and the Head of the Cyber Department at the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, Friederike Dahns.

The letter expressed the two countries’ intent to cooperate in expanding their cyber defense capabilities. The focus was on four areas: development of the next generation of the “Cyber Dome”; establishment of a Cyber Center of Excellence; joint exercises and simulations in cybersecurity and AI; and advancement of regulation in cyber risk management.
