Man caught smuggling weapon from West Bank to east Jerusalem days before Ramadan


IDF observation troops and the Aerial Control Center also intercepted a drone attempting to smuggle three M-16 rifles into Israel on Friday, the military announced on Saturday.

Israel Police arrested a 36-year-old man from Sur Bahir on Saturday after he was caught smuggling a weapon into east Jerusalem.

Detectives, Border Police, and patrol officers arranged a search and located a vehicle containing a loaded Carlo submachine gun.

According to the police, they had prior intelligence indicating that an attempt to smuggle weapons into east Jerusalem from the West Bank was set to take place just a few days before the beginning of Ramadan.

Drone caught smuggling weapons into Israel

IDF observation troops and the Aerial Control Center intercepted a drone attempting to smuggle three M-16 rifles into Israel on Friday, the military announced on Saturday.

The drone, which was identified as entering Israeli territory from the west, was located by troops and discovered to be carrying rifles.

The weapons were transferred to security forces for processing, the IDF stated.
