This New MoonSwatch Is a Cutie Patootie

The new watch makes excellent use of Snoopy, who’s not just there to look cute—although mission accomplished there. He also delivers a hidden message that appears under a UV light. The glowing phrase reads, “I Beat Everybody…” The quote comes from a Peanuts comic strip in which Snoopy lands on the moon and brags about being the first beagle to touch down on the lunar surface.

So why would Snoopy appear on a MoonSwatch? There actually is a legitimate tie-in with a Speedmaster that’s beloved among collectors. NASA awards employees responsible for mission success with the Silver Snoopy Award, and Omega, as the organization’s approved watch, has used that medal on a very popular watch. So not only does this watch offer the globally beloved pup, but it comes with a very cool nod to the real-deal Speedmaster.

Even without the Snoopy association, though, this is still a nice-looking watch. To replicate the twinkling expanse of space, this MoonSwatch splashes glittering aventurine everywhere it can. The sparkly blue shade appears on the minute track, hands, inside the earth and moonphase complications, plus the outer ring of the subdial at 6 o’clock.
