Zelensky: Russia’s attack on Kiev likely used North Korean missile
Kiev (dpa – Russia is believed to have used a ballistic missile of North Korean origin in an attack on Kiev that killed at least 12 people on Thursday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
“If the missile’s production in North Korea is confirmed, it will serve as further evidence of the criminal alliance between Russia and Pyongyang,” Zelensky wrote on Telegram.
Ukrainian intelligence agencies are currently verifying the details, with the missile’s origin still considered a preliminary assessment.
The combined drone and missile attack struck the Ukrainian capital early in the morning, killing at least a dozen people and injuring around 90, according to local authorities.
Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said at least six children were among the dead.
The South Korean military leadership said earlier this year that North Korea had sent thousands of troops to Russia to fight in the Ukraine war.
